Regional Workshop on Planning of UBA activities in UBA adopted Village Clusters

Regional workshop was organised at IIT Delhi on 18th July 2018 for north zone (Delhi, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand) for UBA activities in village clusters adopted by participating institutes (PIs).

Following Key points were discussed in the workshop:

The workshop was attended by 50+ delegates from north zone. It was started during the early hours of 18th July 2018 with welcome address by Prof. V.K. Vijay, Head of CRDT at IIT Delhi, national coordinator UBA & Chief Guest address by Prof. S.K Kare, Associated Dean (R&D) IIT Delhi. Brief introduction of UBA1.0, UBA2.0 and its interfacing with IIT Delhi. The concepts of Shikshit, Swachh and Swawlambi Bharat.

Guest of Honour address by Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Emeritus Professor at IIT Delhi. On dream from 1970s about the idea of “What to return to people?” Token of appreciation for PIs role and presence, discussed the USA parliament statement on IIT ian’s contribution towards USA economy and the foundation layout of RuTag in all old IITs discussed about the role of PIs as foot soldiers for UBA.

Demonstration of UBA web portal by Shri Ritesh Singh, CEO, Eckovation discussed purpose of web portal as spreading vision and mission, creating awareness and easy communication between stake holders.

Prof. Vivek Kumar, IIT Delhi represented framework for preparation of plan of action and Funding and convergence possibilities i.e different central and state schemes and programs, CSR support that can be leveraged.

Dr. Sandeep Raut, Associate town and country planning, GOI elaborate his views on participatory rural appraisal (PRA) tools and techniques for situation analysis.

Dr. J.P Sharma, Joint director, ICAR gives some suggestions on tactical and ethical issues on data collection from rural areas taking into account village dynamics.

Prof. PMV Subbarao, IIT Delhi elaborate on role of subject expert groups (SEGs) technical consulting & implementation mechanisms. Followed by PIs of different institutions discussing their respective issues, concerns, and there suggestions regarding UBA program.
