The National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad is the designated organisation in UBA for all training and capacity building activity. NIRD&PR will assist the IIT D in developing concept, capacity building of faculty/ students of PIs, coordinating implementation of plans, monitoring / evaluation of the interventions for implementation of the UBA. The capacity building will cover interalia,
Need assessment, requirement etc.
Incorporate knowledge inputs ad revise plans and finalize them with local bodies along with communities, panchayats etc.
Utilize the existing knowledge based and institutionalizing the area wise such as drinking water, education, health, agriculture practices, electrification, agricultural and rural industries cooking energy, watershed analysis.
Framework for preparation of Village Development Plan (VDP)
Situation Analysis and tools and techniques for Prioritization of work
Participatory Rural Appraisal tools and techniques (PRA) and how the PRA outcomes can be used for preparing VDP
Preparation of Sustainable Economic Model by use of tied, united funds, people’s contribution, GPDP CSR etc.
Briefing on the field exposure.
ii. Aid in selection of cluster of villages for UBA
iii. Help in re-visiting where necessary and reformulating the curriculum in technical education to incorporate inclusive technologies for rural India.
iv. Help in collaboration of academic institutions with key government flagship programs and develop capacities for supporting the knowledge needs for the same.
v. Aid in identifying efficient, cost effective and sustainable development practices in the field.
vi. Help in facilitating convergence of development schemes, resources, various planning and implementation initiatives, and coordination of agencies for successful interventions and measurable outcomes.
vii. Help and document the success stories and aid on using them for replication in other cluster of villages
viii. Organising midterm review meetings, experience sharing meets for better implementation of UBA.
